part of Marriott autograph collection

       West Palm Beach, FL

As Posh Foody Lifestyles revisits the sunshine state of Florida, we have found one of the sweetest spots in West Palm Beach. The Ben - part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott, houses a rooftop restaurant by the name of Spruzzo.

Spruzzo West Palm is on the 8th floor of the Ben hotel and has it own outdoor private elevator. As we entered the elevator and pressed the button we were taken by surprise of how the view just continued to, well, "elevate".

Posh Foody Lifestyles was joined on this visit by special guest, Toby Cisneros. Toby was born and raised in the U.S. but is now a resident of the U.K. where he continues his career as an actor/model.

We were greeted with smiles immediately after stepping off the elevator and was sat in a very comfortable cabana. With the large colorful, heated pool in front of us and the majestic view of Palm Beach right past that; we knew this was a place that will quickly become a favorite.

After hearing that Posh Foody Lifestyles was in town, Spruzzo management welcomed us with a display of food and drinks that exemplifies the surrounding scenes.

Before we go any further we want to recognize and give a very special thank you to all the management & staff that makes Spruzzo run smoothly. All made sure that we were comfortable and recognized when we were in need of anything. Even those that were not involved with our table walked by with a smile and asked if all was well. All involved of the entire restaurant made our visit a memorable one!

Now, although we were having a true VIP experience, we noticed that management and all the other staff was just as attentive to all of their guests. This showed us that everyone who enters Spruzzo rooftop, whether to sip on a drink and relax or to treat your pallets to a flavor-fest, is viewed as VIP's.

As the drinks and food was being brought out it was a tough decision as to where to start. although all the drinks were tasty, Anthony's favorite was a tie between the Berry Trovato, (amaretto luxardo, blueberries) and the Autunno Splash, (lillet, st. germain, fig, lemon). Toby's choice was the A Lil' Sassy, (casamigos blanco, watermelon, jalapeno).

Then there was the food! We were presented with dishes like Hummus platter, Tuna Tataki w/ seared tuna, Beef skirt steak, lobster rolls etc. But the surprise of the night was an authentic Seafood Paella made by the Executive Chef. This was so amazing but it wasn't all about the spectacular presentation, but the flavor was like I was sitting at a hometown table in Venezuela. It took about an hour for Chef to prepare this delightful dish and came out just at the right time.

As the chef visited us I asked about the freshness of the seafood. He happened to be carrying a list of seafood needed for the next day as we spoke. He states that no fish is used as "leftovers" and all is fresh each day. After the first taste of the Seafood Paella it was evident!

Although it was late and the kitchen had closed, we asked if there any way to find a dessert. They said unfortunately the pastry chef had everything put away, but then several minutes later they laid on our table a fruit tart made with almond flour and the fruit tasted as if just picked from the fields.

We will be visiting the Ben hotels other restaurant, Proper Grit, for brunch on Sunday! Our expectations are set high from our experience at Spruzzo. Please visit us on Monday for the review of Proper Grit!!
