Proper Grit Chophouse -
West Palm Beach

This is the 2nd restaurant located at the Ben Autograph Collection hotel in West Palm Beach, FL. We first visited the ever popular Spruzzo rooftop restaurant which had some amazing views along with cuisine to match. Proper Grit Chophouse is elegant but yet very interesting. The decor is warm and inviting with it's own charm.

Before starting, Anthony and all at Posh Foody Lifestyles wanted to give a very special Thank You to Nick Mesiatsev - Assistant manager of food & beverage. Chris Thompson - manager of Spruzzo rooftop for introducing us to Nick and Proper Grit.

I was accompanied on this visit by special guests, Melissa Lovasco and "Cooper"-the English Cocker Spaniel. Cooper is a celebrity in his own right. Please follow Cooper at coopertheenglishcockerspaniel on Instagram!!

Proper grit is an extremely dog friendly facility which has its own Puppy Brunch menu with signature cocktails! Very thought out and what a great way to treat your "ENTIRE" family to a lovely brunch.

This experience started when greeted by hostess Irma. As we sat along came our server, Gorkem. He was very pleasant and we could see his smile through the mask. We ordered some signature cocktails. Rose, our bartender, accommodated Anthony by making his favorite - a Moscow Mule with muddled blackberries! Ooooh yeah!!

We then started off with the Chef Christine's choice of:

-
Avocado Toast - fried egg, tomato, avocado, pickled onion, creme fraiche, herbs, sourdough
-
Lobster Deviled Eggs - fried kale, country mustard, sour creme
-
The Benedict - not sure since its a monthly special, but was perfection

After enjoying such flavorful dishes, we were presented with Anthony's pick of the day. The Bourbon & Apple French Toast Casserole. This had so many flavors that complemented each other on such a great level. It also had candied bacon and spiced mascarpone. Both added such dimension to what was already a winner!

Then we had each of the Pancake Short Stacks- blueberry, chocolate chip and banana. These were great since they were not too dense and had the right amount of fruit & chocolate chips.

Up next was the Ben Burger. I asked for Med Rare and it came out just as asked. The burger itself was seasoned just right and also came with aged cheddar, Dewey's pioneer sauce, bacon & pepper jam, potato straws and french fries. All went well with and a burger that could stand alone!

Last, but not least, came the Acai Bowl. Granola, coconut flakes, banana and seasonal fruits was the perfect refreshing treat to end such an amazing brunch. The fruit was fresh along with the Acai which was chilled and bursting with flavor as it mixed with the berries. A must have before ending your brunch.

Overall this was a brunch that was worth telling all about. And the fact that they are so dog friendly makes them even that much better when it comes to making the right choice for brunch.
