Posh Foody Lifestyles has done it again!

We at Posh Foody Lifestyles recently met a cool dude by the name of Jared who manages one of the purest Italian restaurants as of yet!

Louie Bossi's in Ft. Lauderdale, FL is so authentic and close to Italian cooking that you will wonder what the other Italian American places are doing.

Posh Foody Lifestyles went to Louie Bossi's on a Saturday evening and it was fully booked. We were met by Desiree who made us feel like royalty. Alex, who happen to be managing that night, introduced himself and assured us that we were about to embark on a wonderful evening of authentic Italian cuisine.

Our waiter, Sean Crooks, was nothing but articulate and knowledgeable, not to mention charming. Now let's talk about the food.

It was if we were transported directly to the old country. Everything on the menu is made from scratch in the restaurant. Yes, EVERYTHING!!!

We were first presented with fresh bread, EVOO and some sort of magical spices for dipping. Then we started to get a little serious with a meat and cheese board. Oh, but not just any board, a board that must have been flown in from Italy as we were being seated.

First up was the Salumi, (the craft of preserving & salting cured meats), so much finer than salami. Finocchiona, Piccante, Tartufo, Soppressata, Mortadella, "Nduja, Coppa. All made in house with the exception of the Mortadella. Anthony's favorite was the Soppressata and Tartufo.

Then the Prosciuttos, ( an Italian dry-cured ham that is usually thinly sliced and served uncooked). We were served Speck (smoked), Di Parma (dry aged), and Leoncini (cooked & brined). Anthony's favorite was the Di Parma which many others agreed.

Now for the cheeses. Ok, try to follow -

La Tur - (Ripened from the outside in, this young Italian cheese is creamy near the rind with a fluffy, mousse-like interior)

Taleggio - (its flavour is comparatively mild with an unusual fruity tang)

Robiola - (an Italian soft-ripened cheese of the Stracchino family)

Parmigiano Reggiano Vecchio - (“The king of cheese!” PDO designation states that for a cheese to be called as Parmesan, it has to be produced from cows grazing on fresh grass and hay)

Fontina Valle D'aosta - (This is the real Fontina, made from the raw milk of cows grazing in 6,500 foot high Alpine pastures)

Gorgonzola Dolce - ( a soft, blue, buttery cheese made with pasteurized cow's milk)

Pecorino - (a hard, salty Italian cheese, often used for grating, made with sheep's milk)
Mozzarella Tasting
Fior Di Latte - (translates to “flower of milk” and refers to cow's milk mozzarella)

Burrata - (The outer shell is solid mozzarella, while the inside contains stracciatella and cream)

Mozzarella Di Bufala - ( made from the milk of Italian Mediterranean buffalo)
If you think that was impressive, hold on to your seat!

While salivating at the entrees, it was a difficult choice. So we allowed our waiter Sean to choose. We wanted to put them to the test and ordered both a pasta and steak dish.

We received the Rigatoni Bolognese substituting the Rigatoni for Bucatini, (a thick spaghetti-like pasta with a hole running through the center), which was beyond fresh and full of flavor.

Anthony was given the Saturday night special. This was the 7oz filetto con tortellini. The filetto was cooked to perfection. Med rare with a hint of pink in the center. The knife needed no effort to slice through. It was accompanied by 3 large tortellini which had a butternut squash filling.

Needless to say that Sean blew us away knowing exactly what we wanted just by asking a few questions.

Now, the moment you all have been waiting for..... DESSERT!!!

We were pleasantly surprised with a dessert platter which had an arraignment of homemade cookies, cannoli, gelato, sorbet, and the best of the best, Zeppoles (an italian doughnut).

We were also very pleased to have found out that the Big Time Group, who owns Louie Bossi's and 16 other restaurants, treat ALL of their restaurants the same.

We at Posh Foody Lifestyles cannot wait to visit the other restaurants that the Big Time Group has to offer.
Not only can we not wait, but we especially cannot wait to share each and every experience with all of you.

Thank you for being part of our journey to show how food can be exciting. Food brought us closer. Food brought us joy. And food is now taking us on new adventures together.
We are Posh Foody Lifestyles and we will see you soon!!!
